About Lister Petter

The story of Lister Petter began with two separate companies, each focused on creating customer-centric products in different industries. One company operated in agriculture, while the other specialized in ironmongery. Both developed their first internal combustion engines in 1902—Petter with an oil engine for automotive use and Lister with a petrol engine for agricultural applications. Recognizing their success in innovation and expansion into different sectors, Hawker Siddeley acquired Petter in 1957 and Lister in 1965, eventually merging them into Lister Petter in 1986.

Since its formation, Lister Petter has continued to produce high-quality engines, becoming a name synonymous with diesel and electric power. The company’s commitment to innovation remains strong, driven by customer feedback and a focus on creating world-leading products. Each engine undergoes extensive testing before leaving the factory, ensuring top quality and reliability, maintaining customer satisfaction and safety.

Lister Petter offers a wide range of products, including diesel engines and power generation equipment. Their engines are suitable for industrial, agricultural, and marine applications, powering pumps, generators, compressors, crop sprayers, fishing vessels, and more. The company also provides air-cooled and water-cooled engines, designed to perform optimally in various environments.

Currently, Lister Petter is advancing its hybrid technologies to meet evolving customer needs while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The company also prioritizes safety for its employees, ethical practices, and support for local communities.
